Paul Yabor Memorial Garden

Paul Yabor Memorial Garden was established on Memorial Day weekend of 2017 in the memory of POPI co-founder Paul Yabor. Paul overdosed on heroin/fentanyl on May 16, 2017. His body was found near the Conrail freight train tracks that run along Gurney Street through the Fairhill and Kensington sections of North Philadelphia, not far from the El Campamento homeless camp and drug user day use area Paul struggled to turn into a semi-organized safer injection site.

The garden currently sits at the northern terminus of the stretch of North American Street that runs from Girard Avenue to Indiana Street, on a green median strip running north from Cambria to Indiana streets. Visit us on Facebook:

Philadelphia Overdose Prevention Initiative (POPI) was initially founded in August 2013 by Paul Cherashore and Paul Yabor to expand naloxone access in Philadelphia.
